Elaine W. Ng is the editor and publisher of ArtAsiaPacific, a 27-year old publication dedicated to contemporary art from Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East. In the mid-1990s she worked at Hanart TZ Gallery, a pioneer promoting contemporary art from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. From the 2001-2002 Ms. Ng managed Videotage, one of Asia’s first non-profit organizations for film, video and new media. Ms. Ng currently sits on the advisory board of Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong, New Hall Art Collection at Cambridge University, and Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. Additionally, she lectures on Asian modern and contemporary art, feminist art, and research methodology for the arts at Hong Kong Baptist University’s Academy of Visual Arts and is a board member of Asia Art Archive in America, where she serves as secretary.
Dr Clare McAndrew is a cultural economist who specializes in the arts, antiques and collectibles markets. She completed her PhD in economics at Trinity College Dublin in 2001, where she also lectured and taught economics for four years. In 2002, Clare joined US firm Kusin & Company, a boutique investment banking firm specializing in art investment, as chief economist. After three years in the United States, Clare returned to Europe in 2005, and continued her work in the art market in a private research and consulting capacity for a global client base. She set up Arts Economics in 2005 to focus her efforts on art market research and analysis, and works with a network of private consultants and academic scholars in different regions around the world providing research and consulting services to the global art trade and financial sector.
In his role as Art Basel's Global Director, Marc Spiegler oversees the global development of the organization across the three shows in Basel, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong. Spiegler joined Art Basel as Co-Director in 2007, became Director in 2012 and joined the MCH Executive Board in 2020. Over the first six years, Art Basel developed into a truly global platform for leading international galleries to show their programs. In recent years and under the directorship of Marc Spiegler, Art Basel developed further worldwide projects such as the Crowdfunding Initiative and Art Basel Cities. Spiegler also is a visiting professor at the Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management at Università Bocconi in Milan. Before joining Art Basel, Spiegler worked as a journalist for 15 years– writing about the artworld for magazines and newspapers such as The Art Newspaper, Monopol, Art & Auction Magazine, ARTnews Magazine, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, and New York Magazine. He studied Political Science and Journalism in the United States and England.
Adrian Zuercher is Head Global Asset Allocation at the UBS Chief Investment Office since June 2020, responsible for the multi-asset portfolio solutions. He joined UBS as the Head Asset Allocation APAC in May 2014. In his role, he was responsible for the APAC asset allocation strategy for both discretionary and advisory mandates. Before joining UBS, Adrian was head of multi-asset emerging market strategy and global asset allocation at Credit Suisse Asset Management in Hong Kong and Zurich. In this role, he was responsible for multi-asset class portfolios and has advised sovereign wealth funds and other institutional investors on asset allocation. Prior to that, he was an equity fund manager in charge of Asia at VP Bank AssetManagement, and a multi-asset class portfolio manager at F. van Lanschot Bankiers. Adrian holds a MSc in finance and economics from the University of Bern and is a CFA charter holder.
